Senate to vote on war powers resolution to prevent Trump from continuing Iran conflict

Excerpt
Democrats have condemned Trump for ordering an air campaign against Iran without first seeking permission from Congress, while offering shifting explanations of its objectives. The war powers resolution introduced by Democratic senators Tim Kaine, Adam Schiff and Chuck Schumer, the minority leader, would force an end to US participation in the current hostilities and require the president to go to Congress before re-entering the war.

‘We want to rebuild trust’: fired CDC workers form group to combat Trump’s war on science

Excerpt
While they battled to get their jobs back, Tighe and several other fired CDC employees banded together to create an improvised mutual aid network they called Fired But Fighting. But as the months dragged on, Fired But Fighting’s members watched as the administration, under the direction of Robert F Kennedy, the US health secretary, transformed the agency into something scarcely recognizable. Whistleblower Shares Evidence That Federal Prison Camp Warden is Pampering Ghislaine Maxwell, Maxwell Also Filing a “Commutation Application” With Trump Administration

Excerpt
Washington, D.C. (November 10, 2025)—Rep. Jamie Raskin, Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Committee, sent a letter to President Donald Trump demanding that he answer inquiries from the Committee and make Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche available for a public hearing in light of documents and information received by the Committee showing that under Dr. Tanisha Hall, the warden of Federal Prison Camp (FPC) Bryan, the federal law enforcement staff working at the camp have been waiting on Ms. Maxwell hand and foot. Whistleblower information provided to the Committee also indicates that Ghislaine Maxwell is working on filing a “Commutation Application” with the Trump Administration—demonstrating either that Ms. Maxwell is herself requesting to be released from her 20-year prison sentence for her role as a co-conspirator in Jeffrey Epstein’s international child sex trafficking ring, or that this child sex predator now holds such tremendous sway in the second Trump Administration that Trump and his own DOJ will follow her clemency recommendations.
