Women Take Majority of Cabinet Seats in First for Denmark
(Bloomberg) — Denmark’s new cabinet reached a record level of female representation, with women outnumbering men for the first time in the Nordic country. The move brings Denmark in line with other Nordic countries in terms of cabinet-level gender parity, matching Finland and just topping Sweden’s 50% level and Norway’s 45%. Iceland’s female representation is the region’s highest, at 54%. The milestone follows a March election in which women won a record 48% of the 179 seats in Denmark’s parliament.
