Contest Every Race

Learn about and support organizations that strengthen democracy

There are thousands of organizations, big and small, all over the country, helping to protect the nation and the people who live here. Some file lawsuits, some help register voters, some raise money for candidates or help candidates run - there are all kinds of groups helping in all kinds of ways.

One way you can get involved is by donating money or volunteering your time with organizations that strengthen democracy.

I've added organizations I think are doing good things - but there are so many more. You can search the internet for local or national organizations working on the issues that matter most to you.

Did you know Democrats don’t run in 50% of US races? We can't win when we don't run.

Contest Every Race is changing that.

What they do

Contest Every Race recruits candidates, helps prepare them to run and win, and builds local support - local parties, local organizers - to encourage more candidates and more wins.

Why I support them

I think helping more people make a difference by running for office is really important work.

I have done text banking and phone calls with Contest Every Race. In addition to feeling good about getting more people involved in serving their communities and giving more people a chance to run, I also learned a lot about local election rules and the process of running for office - some of the calls I made were to county election officials to confirm that the information we had about election regulations was correct and up to date.

A healthy democracy needs all kinds of people involved in all kinds of communities. Contest Every Race helps make that happen.
