Fight fear with action

posted by Kristi Wachter on

These are scary times.

It's genuinely frightening to see all the cruel and chaotic events in the country and the world right now.

It makes a lot of people avoid the news as much as possible.

(That may be a good thing, actually - the news can get overwhelming FAST.  If you're feeling worried or scared, I strongly recommend limiting your exposure to the news.)

Even in the worst of times, though, there are things we can do to try to make things better.

Taking some action can help a lot with the fear. It reminds us that we're not powerless.

It also connects us to other people who are taking action. It can be really helpful to know that other people are working to protect the things we love and fix the things that are broken.

This site can help you take action. It's easy to take the first few steps - first, download the spreadsheet (if you want) and then find your representatives.

Take action:

Action is the antidote to fear and despair.

Take Action

You can make a difference.

It's okay to start small.

Action is the antidote to fear and despair.

Even doing small things - learning more about how we can strengthen our democracy, sharing what you know with others, making a phone call - can make a difference.

Right now is a great time to take action.
